This article explains how the Multiple Rates feature works with MEWS 2-way integration for dynamic pricing in Oaky. By mapping rate codes, hotels can ensure accurate room upgrade offers based on reservation data.

Default Rate Calculation

By default, Oaky calculates upgrade supplements based on the rate code in the reservation.

Example:

  • A guest’s reservation includes rate code NRF and room type DLX.

  • Oaky retrieves the prices for the stay dates for NRF:

    • DLX: €100 → JSU: €160

  • Oaky will offer an upgrade from DLX to JSU for €60.

Since Oaky references the rate code within each reservation, there is no need to select a default rate code in the PMS.

Mapping Rate Codes

Oaky allows hotels to map one rate code to another within the dashboard. When rate codes are mapped, Oaky uses the mapped rate for calculating supplements.

Why Rate Mapping is Useful:
Some rate codes (e.g., corporate rates) apply the same price to all room types, which might result in free upgrade offers. If the hotel wants to charge for upgrades, they can map the corporate rate code to another rate, ensuring accurate pricing.

How to Map Rates in Oaky’s Dashboard

Follow these steps to map rate codes in the Oaky dashboard:

Step 1:
Click on [Select Rates to Map] in the Oaky dashboard.

Step 2:
Select the rate code(s) you want to map from the list.

Step 3:
Click [Add Selected Codes].

Step 4:
Choose the rate code you want to map the selected rate to.

How to Remove a Rate Mapping

  1. To remove a mapping, click the trash icon next to the rate code.

  2. If you need to change the mapped rate, click the X next to the existing mapped rate and select a new one.

Importan Notes:

  1. Supplement Calculation:
Oaky uses the rate codes in the "Map to" column to calculate upgrade supplements. Ensure that these mappings are accurate for correct pricing.

  2. Remapping Rates Codes:
If a rate name is changed, the hotel needs to remap the rate code. Oaky will fall back to using the rate in the reservation if remapping is not done.

  3. Deleted Rate Codes in MEWS:
If a rate code is deleted in MEWS, Oaky will default to using the rate code from the guest’s reservation.

Additional Information

  • Zero Upgrade Supplements:
If the room upgrade supplement appears as €0, it does not indicate an integration issue. This usually happens when Oaky receives the same rates for both the current room type and the upgraded room type, meaning the price difference is €0.

  • Upcoming Enhancement:
Oaky is working on an enhancement to introduce the option for setting a minimum upgrade price, ensuring that upgrade supplements cannot fall below this minimum threshold. All customers will be notified once this feature is available.
